Where ever there are roof vents on a static caravan roof there is more possibility of the sealing compound to breakdown over time and to lose its waterproof seal. On this roof repair we undertaken on an Atlas Static Caravan located in Welshpool, Mid Wales situated between Shrewsbury and Tywyn. As you can see in the image where the sealer should be grey the sealer it has gone black in places which is where water is entering the caravan roof space.
The leak first shown up as a drop on the kitchen floor and of course if left can cause all sorts of problems to the roof, ceiling and wherever the water channels to. To make an effective repair first we cleaned off all the roof surface and vent and then re-sealed using the correct type of external sealant.
