These are pics of an Atlas caravan roof where it has a 3 part ridge cap fitted from front top back. See from the pics where the bolt has gone rusty and where the ridge cap was chattering the roof causing a slight hole and then to penetrate water.
This is a common problem on Atlas caravans where they have a ridge cap fitted, it is purely for decorative purposes only, but does cause huge damage interlay on the ceiling panels over time. Aluminium expands and contracts with the hot and cold weather all the time, meaning that holes and sealed joints are always vulnerable to movement.
We at Hamer leisure remove the ridge cap from front to back and clean the aluminium roof with chemicals and abrasives and then use flash-band from front to back and lay this using heat and paint with silver paint so that a repair to the caravan looks like a manufactured repair and without the 12 boltholes in the roof is never going to leak again.
